In Oakland, California, the revolution is alive and well. Mr. Herbsman is an activist, friend of Bill W, and a man who wants to save the world through theater. His partner in crime, Dr. X, is an angry psychiatrist, poet, author, revolutionary-type, they recruit others to discuss and flush out ideas at the neighborhood barbershop, somewhat out of the line of fire; i.e., gunshots, pandling, etc. West Mac, an ex-con, ex-pimp, ex-gang leader, believes in redeeming himself by drinking from the fountain of youth – exercise daily. Mr. Herbsman brings back some Long Gin Tea from China to enhance the poems and creative thought processes in the group in order to benefit his theatrical pursuits. Dr. X is not sure if he wants to participate in the experiment even though he knows his health could benefit from it. West Mac is a primary candidate, being manic, because he appreciates organic medicine; e.g., marijuana. Will West Mac end up replacing his current organic medicine with the tea?
